Life Update

I thought since I posted about my blogger troubles I better give everyone a life update since we haven't blogged since Jackson's birth..

Things are going wonderfully in our new life of parenthood. Its amazing and I'm so glad I'm a mom. This semester has been a bit hectic trying to schedule enough time for everything, but from what I hear life doesn't get much simpler when school gets out. The plan as of now is to graduate officially in August 2011. We could both graduate in April, but Justin received a paid internship through the school and he has to be a student to do it, so we're going to hold off for the summer. Justin is looking at grad schools as we speak and is having a very difficult time choosing one that he feels is a good fit. Right now we're pretty set on applying to BYU, USU (but we'll still be BYU fans! =), University of Illinois and Penn State. Personally I'm hoping for Penn State just for a change of scenery, but I'm trying not to pressure him! I'm also debating grad school right now, I know that I want to go, but when is the bigger question. I'll either go at the same time as Justin or I'll go once he finishes. I'm planning to go into Library Science so many of the programs are online (which made me a little nervous at first, but I have been assured by many librarians that online library school is just as good as regular in classroom school) which will be perfect for our family. Only time will tell what will happen and I'm sure many of you already know that we frequently change our minds, but this is what is on the table as of now.

Jackson is getting so big! He's crawling like a mad man and has been for a few months now. He's actually starting to let go of things when he is standing up, he's getting very brave. He is also learning new things every day and getting so independent...he must get that from me..=) Yesterday we taught him how to give kisses and it was so fun to be able to show him something just twice and for him to pick it up that fast. So now he's a kissing pro, he even has the kissing noises down.

*Funny Jackson story*
I mentioned that he is getting very independent and he rarely allows us to feed him from a spoon, unless it is food from our plate with our utensils. Usually we just give him chopped up foods and let him go to town, it is just simpler that way..especially since he has learned to throw fits already..perfect. Well the other day I was eating a granny smith apple, a very tart one mind you, and Jackson came up to me and took it away and started eating it. I thought I would see what he could do with it and he ended up eating almost half of it! ..making sour faces all along the way.. Well yesterday Jackson went into our pantry where we have some garden vegetables that were given to us and he climbs up on some boxes and gets a tomato (yes my child is barely 10 months old!) and starts eating it like an apple! He comes (practically running) out of the pantry covered in tomato seeds and juice looking very confused because his food was leaking all over him, not something he was used to from his apple eating experience. He mutilated the poor tomato, which we found smashed on the pantry floor. I could not help but laugh hysterically, what a funny boy!

Anyway life couldn't be more perfect, I love my little family!!
