I wanted to do something kind of fun for Pi Day on Wednesday so I took an idea from this blog http://www.ourbestbites.com. Although hers are much prettier than mine, you still get the idea. I'm sure you guys have probably seen this blog before, its super popular. Anyway Jackson and I made some little hand pies. He had a lot of fun using the cookie cutters to make different shapes. His favorite part was definitely eating the filling though.I'd like to say I was really domestic and made everything from scratch, but I didn't. This is actually the first time I've bought dough from a store and it worked just fine, tasted pretty good too! I also bought cherry pie filling so these were pretty easy to make. The hardest part was trying to keep Jackson from sticking his fingers in them after I had filled them.
Not sure if this is an activity I would do frequently, but its definitely a cute way to eat a pie!

Sorry, but I'm a stickler. It wasn't "pie" day it was "pi" day - you know the number you use for figuring areas of circles: 3.14195..... But I baked a rhubarb pie too. :)
ReplyDeleteOps! Pardon my typo. I'm not used to typing "Pi", "pie" just came out! Fixed.
